VEGETALIZE: AIR CULTURE

“Plants are living, breathing, communicating creatures, endowed with personality and the attributes of soul.
It is only we, in our blindness, who have insisted on considering them automata. Most extraordinary,
it now appears that plants may be ready, willing, and able to cooperate with humanity.”

Peter Tompkins, 1973

About

Born in Brazil, I graduated as product and interior designer in Barcelona and recently finished my master degree in Contextual Design in the Netherlands.

I’m an interdisciplinary designer and my latest work explores the future relationships between humans, nature and technology. Through my practice I question our relationship with plants where new scientific research and traditional knowledge complement each other.

I would like to challenge our perception towards vegetation and trigger our imagination to perceive plants as intelligent and active beings that we can collaborate with to stimulate social and environmental changes.

Since primitive times, technology has evolved through nature, I believe now is the time that nature will evolve through technology and design will play an essential role by merging these two worlds that until recently were considered as antagonists.
